Responsibilities This Supervisory Security Assistant position is located in the Resolution Support Branch, Vetting Analysis Division, Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will be responsible for leading a team within the National Transportation Vetting Center that conducts identity verification for airline passengers that are either possible matches to various watch lists, who lost or their identification was stolen utilizing government and commercial databases. Typical assignments include, but are not limited to: Supervising a team of security assistants and program assistants, assigning work, setting schedules, and directing the administrative work of subordinates; Improves business processes, streamline procedures, and consult on identity verification decisions; Collecting and compiling data from automated systems and providing periodic reports as needed by management; Maintaining and updating internal SOPs, metrics, and training materials; and producing daily ad hoc reports and metrics; and Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with airport management and other TSA officials to support special initiatives. Supervisory duties include: leading a team of security assistants and program assistants, assigning work, setting schedules, setting team goals, selecting team leads, assigning team members and directing the administrative and technical work of subordinates. Guiding the work and development of the team through job coaching/mentoring, enforcing disciplinary actions, managing staff schedules and authorizing leave/absences, and measuring staff performance. Defining training needs, training subordinates on SOPs, and providing input to develop and revise SOPs. This position works various shifts including weekends and holidays.
